Where do you want to be in a year?

Huh? That was my internal response when the “staffing specialist” aka interviewer asked me “Where do you want to be in a year?” My verbal response was about as stunning. With a slight chuckle, I said, “That’s a great question.” And then proceeded to basically not answer the question. I don’t know exactly where I want to be in a year. This whole job change thing wasn’t supposed to happen right now. I don’t know what I want to do next week let alone in a year. There are so many things that I could do and be quite happy. Thankfully I had enough sense not to unload all of these feelings and thoughts on the staffing specialist. I’m sure there are a bunch of employers out there who can’t wait to hire a young woman with no goals and serious lacking in good interviewing skills. *sigh* My job search is definitely in the Lord’s hands.
